Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Phantom Chase — the iOS app and the phantomchase.app website (together, the “Service”) — operated by AppMinds.dev Inc. (“Phantom Chase,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, playing a match, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Phantom Chase account. We verify your date of birth at signup, and accounts for users under 13 are not permitted (see our Privacy Policy for how we handle this). If you’re old enough to use the Service but under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian review these Terms with you.

2. Your Account

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating an account, and for keeping your login credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. The Game — Please Play Safely

Phantom Chase is a real-world, GPS-based physical activity game played outdoors, on real streets. By playing, you understand and accept the risks that come with that: traffic, terrain, weather, and interactions with other players and the public. You play entirely at your own risk. Always prioritize your personal safety and obey local law — traffic rules, trespassing laws, and common sense — over any in-game objective, catch, or zone. No match result is worth putting yourself or anyone else in danger.

The in-app SOS feature is a convenience that alerts your Game Master, not a substitute for emergency services. In a genuine emergency, contact local emergency services directly.

4. Fair Play and Conduct

Playing Phantom Chase means playing fair. You agree not to:

• Spoof, fake, or otherwise manipulate your location or Bluetooth signal.
• Harass, threaten, or endanger other players, or anyone else.
• Trespass on private property to evade a Hunter or make a catch.
• Exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage, or otherwise break the spirit of a friendly, physical game.

Your match’s Game Master has the authority to pause, disqualify, or end a match, and to resolve catch disputes using the in-app review tools. Some enforcement (like play-zone boundary violations) happens automatically, as described in our Privacy Policy. Repeated or serious violations of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.

5. Permissions the Game Needs

Core gameplay depends on device permissions — most importantly location, and Bluetooth for catch confirmation. You can manage these anytime in your device’s Settings, but revoking them will prevent you from creating or joining games. Connecting Apple Health is entirely optional and only affects which source your gameplay stats are calculated from.

6. Your Content

Phantom Chase includes in-match chat and other player-generated content (like a display name). You’re responsible for what you send, and agree not to use chat to harass others or share anything illegal or abusive. We may remove content or restrict access to chat for violations of these Terms.

7. Lobby Codes, Invites, and Creator Codes

Lobby codes and QR invites are meant to be shared with the people you’re actually playing with. Creator codes issued under our creator program are personal to the creator they’re issued to — no resale, and no impersonating a creator you’re not. We may deactivate codes that are abused.

Applying to the Creator Program through the website means providing accurate information about yourself and the channels or profiles you list. Submitting an application doesn’t guarantee acceptance — we review applications individually and may decline one, or later revoke a creator code, at our discretion.

8. Intellectual Property

The Phantom Chase name, logo, app, and website — including their design, text, and underlying code — are owned by AppMinds.dev Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app for your own gameplay. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or website except as the Service itself allows (for example, sharing a lobby invite).

9. Using the Website

The phantomchase.app website is here to tell you about the game and host documents like this one. When using it, please don’t scrape or automate access to it, attempt to disrupt its availability, or misrepresent your affiliation with Phantom Chase. The website may link to third-party destinations — like the App Store — that we don’t control and aren’t responsible for.

10. Availability and Changes to the Service

Phantom Chase is currently available on iOS, with Android support planned. Features, game modes, and the roadmap are subject to change, and we may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service — including in ways that affect an in-progress match, for example if we need to take the backend down for maintenance.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, endanger other users, or abuse the Service. Where reasonably possible, we’ll try to let you know why.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that our anti-cheat and fair-play systems will catch every violation. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer-protection rights that can’t be waived under the law that applies to you.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Phantom Chase and AppMinds.dev Inc. aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Because Phantom Chase involves real-world physical activity, we’re specifically not liable for injuries or losses arising from outdoor gameplay, traffic, terrain, weather, interactions with other players or the public, or your own decisions during a match — you assume that risk by playing, as described in The Game — Please Play Safely.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Phantom Chase and AppMinds.dev Inc. harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the law that applies where you reside, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you there. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first — most things can be resolved directly.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Phantom Chase evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
